Ride or Die chick versus Wifey

Definitions of Ride or Die Chick: (courtesy of Urbandictionary.com)

1) chick that ain't afraid to be down with her man she'll do anything her man
needs her to do.
2) 'ride or die chick' refers to someone who (normally a
girl, hence the word chick) is down for everything & anything. Basically
down for both the bad and the good.
3) a girl who is down for her man in any situation. a girl who's not afraid of throwin down side by side with her man, even if she's the only female. she's the girl who rides in tha passenger seat with tea heat ready on her lap & knows all the targets. a ride or die chick cooks for, cleans for, and entertains her man by any means necessary.

So last night me and my Honey were having a convo. I was telling him about how when fights break out in the club, I go the other way. My reason is because 1) Usually when ppl fight, either them or their homeboy is coming back with a gun, 2) the innocent bystander ppl usually get the most hurt; and 3) When I was at the club, chill laxing & minding my own business, these dues started fighting, I was trying get out of the way & I got caught in the mace spray cuz all the dumb ppl were trying to watch.

ANYWHO~ I told Trey that if he ever got in a fight, at the club, I would met him outside. I already know they are going to take him outside. I also know he can handle his own. He starts to get mad & says:
“ I can’t believe you would jump. Your suppose to be my ride or die chick”.
“ Cleary I told you from the Beginning I was not your Ride or die Chick”.
“ Well I thought by now, things would be different, if a girl tried to fight you, I would jump in”.

So after researching and finding the definitions of “Ride or Die Chick”, I have decided that if being a “RIDE OR DIE CHICK” means getting a record, facing charges and all that other stuff, I guess I will never be his Ride or Die Chick.
*********************************************************
However, I will be his FAITHFUL, COMMITTED “Wifey”
Defintions of Wifey (courtesy of Urbandictionary.com)

1) REAL Lady, Not your only but your favorite, different from them hood rat chicks. Sexy in everyway possible, when she smiles it's sexy, even when she's mad at you it's sexy.
2) A woman that you treat right, respect and feel good having her as your girl.
3) Wifey is the only one that is irreplaceable.. She is the girl that the guy loves and will always love, and he never wants to see her with another man.. But.. He will cheat on her with Boo, Bitches, and Ho's until he is mature enough to realize that if he loses Wifey he would be screwed, and NEVER be happy again..
4) WIFEY (why-fee) n - A female entitled to call his phone any time of the day or night, make herself at home at his home, occupy his free time, keep him out of trouble, defend him at all times even when he's not around! (and vice versa), make sure he's happy (because he does the same for her), have all of his attention. TRANSLATION>>> The one that ALL the girls love to HATE!!
5) a man's one and only. always real never shady. down ta ride for life.. never hesitates to do for her man (hubby).. not like ya typical female/girlfriend.. she sophisticated yet freaky..
There are pages and pages full of definitions. Therefore…me & Trey will be having another convo later!

The Clair Huxtable Way

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

"Pretty women wonder where my secret liesI'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them They think I'm telling lies.

I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman, That's me..."
-Dr. Maya Angelou

ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

When God decided to make Eve, I wonder what his expectation for ALL women were. I think about my life & the different type of women I have encounter. I have met the “I can do bad all by myself” type to “ I rather put up with his baggage then be left alone” type. I wonder “Why do WE women (& just not black women) do the things we do?”

In my 21 years of life, I am starting to become & develop into the type of woman that I want to become. I’m preparing myself to be the type of woman who can have a family as well as a successful job. My role model is Clair Huxtable. Although a fictional character, there is a lot women can learn from her. Clair balanced the family life as well as the career without losing a sense of self. In the year 2009, I know women who feel like you have to pick either Family life or Career. They feel as if you become involve with the domestic responsibilities then you have “sold out” or you “d**K chasing”. I feel like what’s wrong with wanting to be a wife or even girlfriend who cooks & cleans? Since beginning to date my Honey, it has become a pleasure to cook for him. I have been able to show my family (who says I can’t cook) that I really can. I have learned how to make different types of things from pork chop to lasagna. I enjoy looking at his face when he realizes I have cooked his favorite dish. I have learned more about him through me cooking for him then I know about people I’ve known for years. Does this make me a sell out? I enjoy cooking. Don’t get it twisted, I enjoyed cooking before I met him, but I did not have anyone to cook for, so I just didn’t. I don’t mind cooking for my man because I know after a long day at work, a home cooked meal is what anyone wants…..But not get confused~ We shared the domestic responsibilities. I cook, he takes out the trash. I wash, he folds. Some women would say that I & other like me, have “played” ourselves for our men. I say it the Clair Huxtable way.

& Just like Clair, I’m learning the position of my career in my life. I am less than 11 months from GRADUATION & I am thinking about my career. Last summer I was blessed with the opportunity to become employed at my current job. I do not plan on leaving. The pay is wonderful & the work atmosphere is pleasant. Since I am way from home, the people at my job have become another family. I have been able to come in contact with some of the most interesting as well as informational people that I know. I also have goals for my career. I may be in an entry level position now, but I have goals of moving up. I know it is some women that are like “Heck ya~ You go girl” Get that money!

But what is sooooooo wrong with having a “FAMILY & GETTING THAT MONEY?”

The LATE NIGHT PHONE CALL

Imagine>>> It’s about 2:30-3 o’clock in the morning. You’re in bed laying next to your significant other & their phone rings. They pick up & the person on the other end is not a family member>>> what do you do?

OPTIONS
A) Don’t trip because they are with you and not them
B) Wait to see if he/she leaves the room to continue the convo
C) ACT a DARN FOOL!
I really want some opinions on this.......
